Opening of “The Book as Art”

The Book as Art, the new exhibit at Boston College’s McMullen Museum of Art (Devlin Hall), dispalys uniquely composed books by female artist spanning four decades. An open reception and viewing will be on Monday, February 16th, 2009 from 7-9pm complete with dessert and music by BC bOp. book_image

The Book as a medium is originates from the work of Georges Rouault and Pablo Picasso. Composed with a mix of image, text, and found objects, the eighty-seven piece collection explores the subjects of nature, travel, dreams, magic, loss, family, motherhood, food, histories, and the role of the muse.

The exhibit was compiled by the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. and will be at Boston College until May 31st.
