Alumna S. Mayo Exhibits New Work in New York

BC graduate Sherry Mayo is participating in two group exhibitions this fall in New York.

Private i exhibit at Skylight Gallery NYCThe first is with an exhibit called “Private i” at Skylight Gallery NYC. The idea for the exhibit grew from the gallery’s next door neighbor, “Elite Investigations,” a real private detective agency. The driving idea behind the theme is “the artist could approach this in a film-noir, gum shoe sort of way, or as an investigation of themselves,” said Carla Goldberg, the gallery director of Skylight and one of the curators for the show. The exhibit will run until September 26th, so be sure to catch it while you can. Skylight Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm.

The second group exhibit that Sherry Mayo will participate in this fall is at A.R.T.S. gallery in Croton Falls, New York. Artists Ready To Sell (A.R.T.S.) enables artists to both display and sell their work. The opening reception will be held on September 19th from 3 to 6 pm and the exhibit will continue through the month of September. Going on display will be Mayo’s “Cellular Consciousness,” seen to the left.

Sherry Mayo graduated from Boston College in 1993 after an independent study in BioArt. Her works “are an internalization of our biosphere expressed through drawing, painting, digital imaging, and video.”
