Celtic Christmas Sojourn

“It’s a hit!! The Herald calls the show “the best yet.” The Globe says it’s a “who’s who of musicians and dancers from around the Celtic World.”

Boston College alumna Kieran Jordan, class of ’96, was the dance director for this past weekend’s hit show Celtic Christmas Sojourn. In the show, Kieran directed dancers from The Harney Academy of Irish Dance in a spectacular array of movement. The Boston Herald’s, Daniel Gewertz illustrates Kieran’s work as follows: “While dance director Kieran Jordan never fails to delight onstage, her new discovery, Nic Gareiss, was the show-stopper. Merging Irish step dancing with other forms of dance, this Michigan native may be the most inventive and expressive step dancer on the scene. The nimble Gareiss called forth visions of Fred Astaire.”

After its debut in 2003, the Celtic Christmas Sojourn has grown into an annual event while cultivating a larger group of supporters each season. This year, the concert was performed at the Cutler Majestic Theatre and was hosted by WBGH’s radio host, Brian O’Donovan. The show depicts the importance of family and love in a concert depicting stories of the hard times and strife in Irish Christmases past.
